A worked explanation of entry fees, financing, price shocks and reference gains or losses.

The calculator starts from a fresh vault at today’s prices, applies the same exact-integer accounting rules as the app and reports reference value. It does not infer historical tax lots or pretend to know an executable sale price.

  1. Parse the deposit into integer cents.
  2. Apply the 0.10% Boost entry fee and matched senior financing.
  3. Advance the manual scenario clock, if selected.
  4. Apply one terminal price move and value the resulting receipt slice.
  5. Subtract the original deposit to show signed reference gain or loss.

The local Portfolio ledger uses weighted-average integer basis. Cash exits allocate basis to burned receipt units and show realized P&L; paired in-kind exits carry basis to returned stock tokens instead of treating a transfer as a sale. These are account metrics, not tax lots or tax advice.
